Process Simulation of Steam Gasification of Torrefied Woodchips in a Bubbling Fluidized Bed Reactor Using Aspen Plus

چکیده

A comprehensive process model is proposed to simulate the steam gasification of biomass in a bubbling fluidized bed reactor using Aspen Plus simulator. The models are implemented external FORTRAN codes for hydrodynamic and reaction kinetic calculations. Governing equations rates char water-gas shift reactions obtained from experimental investigations literature. Experimental results at different operating conditions torrefied pilot-scale gasifier used validate model. Gasification temperature steam-to-biomass ratio promote hydrogen production improve efficiencies. directly proportional an increase content carbon monoxide, while gas yield conversion efficiency enhance significantly with increasing temperature. predictions good agreement data. mean error CO2 shows highest value 0.329 lowest deviation 0.033 efficiency, respectively. validated capable simulating under various conditions.
